Omega-3s are important for brain and heart health. They help to reduce inflammation in the body. We can get omega-3s from fatty fish but the omega-3s from chia seeds are especially unique because they are plant based and are known as alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). In fact, the Australian Heart Foundation recommends 1g of plant-sourced ALA each day.
Is the jam suitable for diabetics?
Yes it is suitable for diabetics. There is no added sugars so the only sugars present are naturally occurring from the strawberries. We use erythritol and stevia to sweeten it, which don’t cause significant spikes in sugars. However we do suggest you monitor your blood sugar levels and consult your healthcare professional to make sure it fits into your dietary plan.
